Deze Legal notice geeft informatie over de aanbieder, de gebruiksgrenzen van GlucoBlink en de afhankelijkheid van externe gegevensbronnen. Voor aankopen gelden daarnaast de algemene voorwaarden en het retourbeleid van de webshop. Voor persoonsgegevens geldt de privacyverklaring. Deze teksten beperken uw dwingende wettelijke rechten niet.

2. Aanvullend informatiedisplay

GlucoBlink is uitsluitend een aanvullend display voor informatie uit een gekoppelde glucosebron. Het apparaat meet zelf geen glucose. Afhankelijk van de bron en instellingen kan het glucosewaarden, trendpijlen, veranderingen sinds eerdere metingen, meettijdstippen en de tijd sinds de laatste meting tonen.

GlucoBlink vervangt geen CGM-systeem, officiële CGM-app of ontvanger, bloedglucosemeter, insulinepomp of advies van een zorgverlener. De weergegeven informatie is geen diagnose, behandeladvies of doseringsadvies.

Baseer insulinedoseringen, correcties, wijzigingen van pompinstellingen, medicatie of andere medische behandelbeslissingen niet op GlucoBlink. Controleer gegevens vóór een behandelbeslissing altijd in de officiële app of ontvanger van uw CGM-systeem en volg de gebruiksaanwijzing en uw persoonlijke behandelafspraken. Een volgapp, cloudomgeving of Nightscout-installatie vervangt deze controle niet.

3. Gegevens, klachten en spoedsituaties

Gegevens kunnen vertraagd, onvolledig, verouderd of onjuist zijn. Mogelijke oorzaken zijn sensorproblemen, verlies van wifi of internet, stroomuitval, serverstoringen, onjuiste instellingen, softwarefouten of wijzigingen bij de gegevensleverancier. Een zichtbare waarde betekent niet automatisch dat deze actueel is.

Controleer de tijd sinds de laatste meting, de juiste persoon of gegevensbron en de ingestelde eenheid, bijvoorbeeld mmol/L of mg/dL. Gebruik bij ontbrekende, onverwachte of tegenstrijdige gegevens het oorspronkelijke CGM-systeem volgens de bijbehorende instructies.

Negeer lichamelijke klachten niet omdat GlucoBlink een normale waarde toont of geen alarm geeft. Controleer bij twijfel of als klachten niet passen bij de sensorwaarde met een bloedglucosemeter volgens de instructies van uw CGM-systeem en uw behandelafspraken. Bespreek vragen over uw behandeling met uw zorgverlener.

Wacht bij een medische noodsituatie niet op het display of een melding. Schakel direct medische hulp in en bel bij spoed 112.

4. Aanvullende waarschuwingen en IOB/COB

Hoog-, laag- en geen-data-alarmen, geluid en visuele waarschuwingen (blink) zijn aanvullende signalen. Zij kunnen te laat komen, uitblijven of onterecht afgaan. Uitschakeling, volume, snooze, dag- en nachtinstellingen, verbindingsproblemen en technische storingen kunnen meldingen beïnvloeden. Het uitblijven van een alarm betekent niet dat een glucosewaarde veilig is.

Gebruik GlucoBlink niet als enige alarmvoorziening of als vervanging van toezicht op kinderen of andere personen die hulp nodig hebben. Houd de meldingen van het oorspronkelijke CGM-systeem beschikbaar en ingesteld volgens de gebruiksaanwijzing en uw behandelafspraken. Controleer de aanvullende waarschuwingen regelmatig en na wijzigingen in instellingen.

Als een gekoppelde bron deze gegevens levert, kan GlucoBlink IOB en COB tonen. IOB is de geschatte nog actieve insuline; COB is de geschatte nog te verwerken koolhydraten. Dit zijn berekeningen uit de bron en geen rechtstreeks gemeten waarden. Zij hangen onder meer af van invoer, instellingen en synchronisatie. Gebruik deze informatie niet om via GlucoBlink een dosis of behandeling te bepalen.

5. Niet-officiële Dexcom- en LibreLinkUp-koppelingen

De door GlucoBlink gebruikte rechtstreekse koppelingen met Dexcom en LibreLinkUp (Abbott/FreeStyle Libre) zijn geen officieel door deze leveranciers voor GlucoBlink beschikbaar gestelde, goedgekeurde of ondersteunde integraties. GlucoBlink gebruikt toegang tot diensten die voor de officiële CGM- en volgapps van de leveranciers zijn bedoeld. Eventuele officiële integraties voor geselecteerde andere partijen staan los van de door GlucoBlink gebruikte koppelingen.

Op dit moment kunnen via deze koppelingen gegevens, zoals glucosewaarden, trendinformatie en meettijdstippen, rechtstreeks naar het display worden opgehaald. Deze technische mogelijkheid is geen garantie dat de toegang in de toekomst beschikbaar blijft.

Dexcom of Abbott kan de toegang, authenticatie, technische werking of voorwaarden wijzigen, beperken of blokkeren. Hierdoor kan het uitlezen door GlucoBlink tijdelijk of blijvend onmogelijk worden, terwijl de informatie nog wel via officiële apps, apparatuur of andere door de leverancier goedgekeurde oplossingen beschikbaar is.

GlucoBlink kan niet garanderen dat deze niet-officiële koppelingen blijven werken of dat een wijziging of blokkade met een software-update kan worden verholpen. Namen en merken van leveranciers worden alleen gebruikt om de betreffende producten en koppelingen aan te duiden. Zij blijven eigendom van hun rechthebbenden. Een vermelding betekent geen samenwerking, goedkeuring of ondersteuning.

6. Nightscout: bronkoppeling en verantwoordelijkheid van de klant

GlucoBlink biedt Nightscout als afzonderlijke bronoptie. De dienstverlening voor deze optie betreft het ophalen en weergeven van ondersteunde gegevens uit een geschikte Nightscout-installatie via de Nightscout-koppeling van het display. Nightscout zelf is een afzonderlijk product of project en is geen onderdeel van de door GlucoBlink geleverde dienstverlening.

Het aanmaken, installeren, hosten, configureren, beveiligen, onderhouden en beschikbaar houden van Nightscout is de verantwoordelijkheid van de klant. Dit geldt ook voor eventuele kosten van hosting, accounts of diensten en voor het verkrijgen van de benodigde toegangsgegevens en rechten. GlucoBlink levert of beheert geen Nightscout-installatie, tenzij daarover afzonderlijk uitdrukkelijke afspraken zijn gemaakt.

Het koppelen van de eigen CGM aan Nightscout en het zorgen dat glucosewaarden, trendinformatie en andere gegevens daarin terechtkomen, is de verantwoordelijkheid van de klant. Dit aanleverproces kan afhangen van de sensor, officiële apps, uploadsoftware of diensten van derden. Het valt buiten de dienstverlening van GlucoBlink. Wij garanderen niet dat ieder CGM-systeem gegevens aan Nightscout kan aanleveren of dat die mogelijkheid beschikbaar blijft.

Voor het gebruik van Nightscout op GlucoBlink zorgt de klant voor een geschikte en bereikbare Nightscout-installatie, juiste URL en toegangsgegevens, voldoende rechten en een werkende netwerkverbinding. GlucoBlink blijft verantwoordelijk voor de werking van de door ons geleverde displaykoppeling zoals overeengekomen. Bij ontbrekende of verouderde gegevens kan het display geen actuele waarde tonen; volg dan de instructies in deze disclaimer en gebruik het oorspronkelijke CGM-systeem.

7. Herstel van koppelingen en software-updates

Als een ondersteunde koppeling uitvalt door een wijziging bij een externe leverancier, zal GlucoBlink onderzoeken of herstel technisch en rechtmatig mogelijk is. Wij zullen ons redelijkerwijs inspannen om de gegevensbron via een software-update weer bruikbaar te maken, via een officiële integratie als die beschikbaar en toegankelijk is, of via een technisch en rechtmatig beschikbare niet-officiële koppeling.

Dit is een inspanningsverplichting, geen garantie op herstel, een officiële samenwerking of een vaste hersteldatum. Herstel kan afhangen van toegang, toestemming of wijzigingen bij de leverancier. Wij omzeilen geen toegangsbeperkingen in strijd met toepasselijk recht. Als herstel niet mogelijk blijkt, informeren wij de betrokken klanten over de situatie en mogelijke oplossingen.

Onze wettelijke verplichtingen rond deugdelijkheid, noodzakelijke updates en herstel blijven gelden. Een herstelpoging of de mogelijkheid van een toekomstige update betekent niet dat u onbeperkt moet wachten of afstand doet van wettelijke remedies.

8. Werkende Nightscout-bron en restitutie

Als de rechtstreekse Dexcom- of LibreLinkUp-koppeling wegvalt, blijft Nightscout als alternatieve bron beschikbaar, zolang de Nightscout-koppeling van GlucoBlink technisch functioneert. Het display behoudt daarmee zijn functie om gegevens uit een geschikte Nightscout-installatie op te halen en weer te geven. Deze mogelijkheid betekent niet dat uw CGM-gegevens automatisch in Nightscout beschikbaar zijn.

Voor de technische beoordeling van de Nightscout-bronoptie is de koppeling tussen een geschikte, bereikbare Nightscout-installatie en GlucoBlink leidend. De koppeling werkt wanneer GlucoBlink bij correcte configuratie de daar beschikbare, ondersteunde glucosegegevens kan ophalen en volgens de productomschrijving kan weergeven. Of uw CGM of een externe dienst gegevens aan Nightscout kan aanleveren, is een afzonderlijke schakel en bepaalt niet op zichzelf of de Nightscout-koppeling van het display werkt. Een menuoptie alleen is geen bewijs van werking; de koppeling moet technisch kunnen worden aangetoond met geschikte gegevens in Nightscout.

Buiten uw wettelijke rechten en de geldende retourafspraken bieden wij geen aanvullende vrijwillige restitutie uitsluitend vanwege het wegvallen van de rechtstreekse Dexcom- of LibreLinkUp-koppeling wanneer de Nightscout-koppeling van GlucoBlink werkt zoals hierboven omschreven en het product verder voldoet aan de overeenkomst en aan wat u bij aankoop redelijkerwijs mocht verwachten. Het ontbreken van CGM-data in een door de klant beheerde Nightscout-installatie is op zichzelf geen defect van de koppeling tussen Nightscout en GlucoBlink.

Deze afbakening van de technische werking sluit wettelijke garantie, herstel, prijsvermindering, ontbinding, terugbetaling of de wettelijke bedenktijd niet uit. Een specifiek toegezegde directe koppeling kan ook bij een werkende Nightscout-koppeling onderdeel van de overeenkomst zijn. Een alternatieve bron is niet automatisch een gelijkwaardige oplossing wanneer wezenlijke toegezegde functies ontbreken of de klant daarmee niet redelijkerwijs kan beschikken over de overeengekomen functionaliteit. Wij beoordelen dit aan de hand van de aankoopafspraken en de wet. Deze tekst wijzigt bestaande overeenkomsten niet met terugwerkende kracht.

9. Configuratie en privacy

De gebruiker of verantwoordelijke ouder of verzorger zorgt voor een juiste configuratie, controleert de gegevensbron en houdt het oorspronkelijke CGM-systeem beschikbaar. Bescherm inloggegevens en geef alleen bevoegde personen toegang tot het display en de configuratie.

Gebruik uitsluitend accounts en gegevens waarvoor u bevoegd bent of toestemming hebt. Gegevens op het scherm kunnen zichtbaar zijn voor omstanders. Deel geen accountwachtwoorden per e-mail en stuur voor ondersteuning alleen gegevens die daarvoor nodig zijn.

Onze privacyverklaring beschrijft hoe wij persoonsgegevens verwerken. Het lezen of accepteren van deze Legal notice is geen afzonderlijke toestemming voor verwerking van gezondheidsgegevens.

10. Verantwoordelijkheid en contact

Deze Legal notice beschrijft gebruiksgrenzen en afhankelijkheden. Zij sluit geen wettelijke consumentenrechten, wettelijke garantie, productaansprakelijkheid of andere aansprakelijkheid uit die niet rechtsgeldig kan worden uitgesloten. Het lezen of accepteren van deze tekst betekent geen afstand van zulke rechten.

Wij blijven verantwoordelijk voor verplichtingen die volgens de overeenkomst en de wet op ons rusten. Bij een tegenstrijdigheid gaan dwingend recht en de voor uw aankoop geldende afspraken voor. Een latere wijziging van deze tekst beperkt uw bestaande rechten niet.

This Legal Notice provides information about the provider, the limitations of GlucoBlink’s use and its dependence on external data sources. Purchases are also subject to the webshop’s Terms of Service and returns policy. The privacy policy applies to personal data. These documents do not restrict your mandatory statutory rights.

2. Supplementary information display

GlucoBlink is intended solely as a supplementary display for information from a connected glucose data source. The device does not measure glucose itself. Depending on the source and settings, it may display glucose readings, trend arrows, changes since previous readings, measurement timestamps and the time elapsed since the latest reading.

GlucoBlink does not replace a CGM system, an official CGM app or receiver, a blood glucose meter, an insulin pump or advice from a healthcare professional. The information displayed does not constitute a diagnosis, treatment advice or dosing advice.

Do not base insulin doses, corrections, changes to pump settings, medication or other medical treatment decisions on GlucoBlink. Before making a treatment decision, always verify the data in your CGM system’s official app or receiver and follow its instructions for use and your personal treatment plan. A follower app, cloud service or Nightscout installation does not replace this verification.

3. Data, symptoms and emergencies

Data may be delayed, incomplete, outdated or inaccurate. Possible causes include sensor problems, loss of Wi-Fi or internet access, power outages, server disruptions, incorrect settings, software errors or changes made by the data provider. A visible reading does not necessarily mean that it is current.

Check the time elapsed since the latest reading, the correct person or data source, and the selected unit, such as mmol/L or mg/dL. If data are missing, unexpected or inconsistent, use the original CGM system in accordance with its instructions.

Do not ignore physical symptoms because GlucoBlink shows a normal reading or does not issue an alarm. If you are unsure or your symptoms do not match the sensor reading, check with a blood glucose meter in accordance with your CGM system’s instructions and your treatment plan. Discuss any questions about your treatment with your healthcare professional.

In a medical emergency, do not wait for the display or a notification. Seek medical assistance immediately and call 112 in an emergency.

4. Supplementary alerts and IOB/COB

High, low and no-data alarms, sound and visual alerts (blink) are supplementary signals. They may be delayed, fail to occur or be triggered incorrectly. Disabling alerts, volume, snooze, day and night settings, connection problems and technical faults may affect notifications. The absence of an alarm does not mean that a glucose reading is safe.

Do not use GlucoBlink as your only alarm system or as a substitute for supervising children or other people who need assistance. Keep the original CGM system’s notifications available and configured in accordance with its instructions for use and your treatment plan. Check the supplementary alerts regularly and after changing settings.

If a connected source supplies these data, GlucoBlink may display IOB and COB. IOB is the estimated insulin still active in the body; COB is the estimated carbohydrate amount remaining to be absorbed. These are calculations from the source, not directly measured values. They depend, among other things, on data entry, settings and synchronisation. Do not use this information to determine a dose or treatment through GlucoBlink.

5. Unofficial Dexcom and LibreLinkUp integrations

The direct Dexcom and LibreLinkUp (Abbott/FreeStyle Libre) integrations used by GlucoBlink are not integrations officially made available, approved or supported by these providers for GlucoBlink. GlucoBlink accesses services intended for the providers’ official CGM and follower apps. Any official integrations offered to selected third parties are separate from the integrations used by GlucoBlink.

These integrations currently allow data such as glucose readings, trend information and measurement timestamps to be retrieved directly by the display. This technical capability does not guarantee that access will remain available in the future.

Dexcom or Abbott may change, restrict or block access, authentication, technical operation or terms of use. This may make data retrieval by GlucoBlink temporarily or permanently impossible, even if the information remains available through official apps, devices or other solutions approved by the provider.

GlucoBlink cannot guarantee that these unofficial integrations will continue to work or that a change or access restriction can be resolved through a software update. Provider names and trademarks are used only to identify the relevant products and integrations. They remain the property of their respective rights holders. A reference does not imply a partnership, approval or support.

6. Nightscout: data source integration and customer responsibility

GlucoBlink offers Nightscout as a separate data source option. The service provided for this option consists of retrieving and displaying supported data from a suitable Nightscout installation through the display’s Nightscout integration. Nightscout itself is a separate product or project and is not part of the services provided by GlucoBlink.

The customer is responsible for creating, installing, hosting, configuring, securing, maintaining and keeping Nightscout available. This also includes any hosting, account or service costs and obtaining the necessary access credentials and permissions. GlucoBlink does not supply or manage a Nightscout installation unless this has been expressly agreed separately.

The customer is responsible for connecting their own CGM to Nightscout and ensuring that glucose readings, trend information and other data are supplied to it. This data delivery process may depend on the sensor, official apps, upload software or third-party services. It falls outside GlucoBlink’s services. We do not guarantee that every CGM system can supply data to Nightscout or that this capability will remain available.

To use Nightscout with GlucoBlink, the customer must provide a suitable and accessible Nightscout installation, the correct URL and access credentials, sufficient permissions and a working network connection. GlucoBlink remains responsible for the agreed operation of the display integration we provide. If data are missing or outdated, the display cannot show a current reading; follow the instructions in this disclaimer and use the original CGM system.

7. Restoring integrations and software updates

If a supported integration stops working because of a change made by an external provider, GlucoBlink will investigate whether restoring it is technically possible and lawful. We will make reasonable efforts to make the data source usable again through a software update, using an official integration if one is available and accessible, or an unofficial integration that is technically available and lawful.

This is an obligation to make reasonable efforts, not a guarantee of restoration, an official partnership or a fixed restoration date. Restoration may depend on access, permission or changes made by the provider. We do not circumvent access restrictions in breach of applicable law. If restoration proves impossible, we will inform affected customers about the situation and possible solutions.

Our statutory obligations concerning product conformity, necessary updates and remedies remain in effect. An attempt to restore access or the possibility of a future update does not mean that you must wait indefinitely or waive statutory remedies.

8. Working Nightscout data source and refunds

If the direct Dexcom or LibreLinkUp integration becomes unavailable, Nightscout remains an alternative data source as long as GlucoBlink’s Nightscout integration functions technically. The display therefore retains its capability to retrieve and display data from a suitable Nightscout installation. This capability does not mean that your CGM data are automatically available in Nightscout.

For the technical assessment of the Nightscout data source option, the connection between a suitable, accessible Nightscout installation and GlucoBlink is the determining factor. The integration works when, with the correct configuration, GlucoBlink can retrieve the supported glucose data available there and display them in accordance with the product description. Whether your CGM or an external service can supply data to Nightscout is a separate part of the data chain and does not, by itself, determine whether the display’s Nightscout integration works. A menu option alone is not proof of functionality; the integration must be technically demonstrable using suitable data in Nightscout.

Beyond your statutory rights and the applicable returns arrangements, we do not offer an additional discretionary refund solely because the direct Dexcom or LibreLinkUp integration becomes unavailable, provided that GlucoBlink’s Nightscout integration works as described above and the product otherwise conforms to the contract and what you could reasonably expect at the time of purchase. The absence of CGM data in a customer-managed Nightscout installation is not, in itself, a defect in the integration between Nightscout and GlucoBlink.

This distinction concerning technical functionality does not exclude statutory conformity rights, remedies, price reduction, termination of the contract, refunds or the statutory cooling-off period. A specifically promised direct integration may form part of the contract even when the Nightscout integration works. An alternative source is not automatically an equivalent solution if essential promised functions are missing or the customer cannot reasonably obtain the agreed functionality through it. We assess this against the purchase agreement and the law. This document does not amend existing contracts retrospectively.

9. Configuration and privacy

The user or responsible parent or carer must ensure correct configuration, check the data source and keep the original CGM system available. Protect login credentials and allow only authorised people to access the display and its configuration.

Use only accounts and data that you are authorised or have permission to access. Data on the screen may be visible to bystanders. Do not share account passwords by email, and send only the data necessary for support.

Our privacy policy explains how we process personal data. Reading or accepting this Legal Notice does not constitute separate consent to the processing of health data.

10. Responsibility and contact

This Legal Notice describes limitations of use and dependencies. It does not exclude statutory consumer rights, statutory conformity rights, product liability or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Reading or accepting this document does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

We remain responsible for the obligations imposed on us by the contract and the law. In the event of a conflict, mandatory law and the terms applicable to your purchase take precedence. A later amendment to this document does not restrict your existing rights.
